Cha Cha Cha with Starfish

Last but definitely not least on your color exploration of Pantone’s spring colors is Starfish. Starfish is a blend of khaki, sand and nude tones that will add an easy and summery lifestyle to your closet. As a neutral tone it is seen as the base of an outfit that combines perfectly with vibrant, colorful accessories. With Starfish, you will not have to sacrifice color.
Starfish can be seen from accessories to the bold piece in an outfit. Carmen Marc Valvo, New York based fashion designer, called Starfish “a soft, sophisticated neutral that flatters any skin tone.” The warm, faded color will energize your wardrobe by adding vibrant hues together for a perfect spring look or even for emphasizing the new summer must-haves. The beach and the runaway are calling you; here is some inspiration.

Dancing with Solar Power

Continuing the vibrate look into color, here is the next Pantone Color, Solar Power. Solar Power is a combination of amber and canary tones that will give a jolt of energy to your wardrobe. Considered the “optimist” of the color wheel, yellow stimulates the senses and evokes feelings of warmth and cheer. Executive director of Pantone Color Institute Leatrice Eiseman said that, “Consumers look to spring for renewed energy, optimism and the promise of a brighter day.” Hence a little Solar Power goes along way.
This vibrant color can be mixed with another Pantone color for a bold look or as a safe accent color to beige. Too much ‘Solar Power’ can be overwhelming but for some “the brighter, the better.” From makeup to jewelry to dresses, Solar Power is bringing more sunshine to the world. Start dancing with this new color, here is inspiration.

LET'S TANGO

Pantone Color Institute names a “color of the year,” which predicts a standout for fashion for the upcoming season. For 2012, the pick is Tangerine Tango. This reddish-orange color brings the heat in your wardrobe. Pantone goes on to say, “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it. Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
This sassy color was made to stand out and thought it maybe intimidating at first glance this color is complimentary with all skin tones. For a bold look, combine this color with highly saturated colors (hot pinks and blues) to get a color-blocked look. For a simpler look, add neutrals or add the “tango” as an accent color. Tangerine Tango is being showcased all over the runways and red carpets; here is a little inspiration.
